Simon Jacobsen has been involved in GOD TV, since Rory & Wendy Alec launched The Christian Channel Europe, which was the name of the channel at the beginning of October 1995.
Actually, God called Simon to pioneer Christian television in the spring of 1995, so he was on the sidelines and prayed so the Channel was launched, not only on satellite, but on the cable network of Simon Jacobsen's hometown, Hjørring.
After two years as a volunteer ambassador for GOD TV, Simon Jacobsen was appointed by Rory & Wendy as Scandinavian Director and he worked tireless for the channel to spread across the Nordic region.
For 15 years, Simon traveled the length and breadth of Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Faroe Islands.
He presented GOD TV at numerous conferences with up to 35,000 participants and met with bishops, pastors and church leaders from all denominations.
Over the years, Simon Jacobsen also presented the work for GOD TV in the Scandinavian Region on GOD TVs global broadcasts, reaching into 214 countries, where 600 million people were able to watch these programs.
Simon's nephew, Anders, who was working with mission projects in Africa, tells of a visit to a remote village. The chief wanted to show Anders his new TV and his favorite program and said: "These are my friends," and he pointed to Rory Alec and Simon Jacobsen on the screen.
For Simon, was the fulfillment of God's call to him, when he saw thousands being saved through Christian TV.
When after 15 years Simon Jacobsen passed the baton to Tom Inge Aas, and the Scandinavian regional office moved from Hjørring to Tønsberg in Norway, there were an estimated 5 to 8 million people in the Scandinavian countries able to watch GOD TV.
